True Salvation

Once we are saved, we are saved to God’s kingdom. We are guaranteed a place in heaven. That does not mean we don’t live our lives in accordance to God’s wishes. The fact that once we are saved we have “Christ in us” and this should motivate us to want to do well. It is true that “faith without works is dead”. Where is our faith if we are not continually maturing as a Christian? Where is our faith if we choose the bad over the good? It does not mean that we can work our way to heaven by what we do. Jesus has already done that for us. Our motivation for doing works is in the knowledge that indwelling within us is Christ himself. The Holy Spirit which has become part of us now leads us in a heavenly direction. Our actions, or works, only provide us with rewards in heaven, not a certain place in heaven. There are no levels of heaven, there is just our heavenly home, which as saved Christians, we will see some day. Of this I have no doubt. I find it so sad that so many people in this world have been led down a path of deception that makes being a person loved by God so hard. God loves us all. “We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God”. No one can become perfect, but Jesus has asked us to strive for that. My desire to do good each day is my way of giving praise to my heavenly Father who loves me unconditionally, it is not so I can earn my way into His presence.
